I took the 'Open Water' scuba diving course Sept-Oct 2011with davyjonesdiving at Arinanga on Gran Canaria. I was very nervous because I'd left it a bit late in life, had never dived before. We dived on the El Cabrón marine reserve, which according to my GCSE Spanish means: 'The Bastard' but it turned out to be anything but, it's a very beautiful area. I had a wonderful time and couldn't have asked for a better and friendlier group of people to get me through the tests and there was always someone to help me get my Flip... sorry Fins on and yes, I know that that was the longest weight belt you had (I've bought my own XL now). After the course I went on a couple more dives and took a Kodak single use waterproof camera not expecting to get anything at all. This would have been the case if left to 'Boots' the chemist who developed the film OK, but then applied a strange set of rules to printing. Fortunately, because I've got a lot of old photos I was able to use my 'Film to PC' negative scanner to salvage the pics which I agree wouldn't frighten a wildlife photographer, but were much better than I expected. I admit that I've tried to lighten, compensate for some colour and cut the filesize with Photoshop (Oh, and put in a German speaking fish, sorry Ingo) but all in all not terrible for a cheapo camera.
